The Calm Before The Storm

With this post I am finally taking this website into a new direction. Now that I have revealed a little bit about how I name this website, I thought a little more information about the writer, the dreamer, the poet who’s thoughts get written here.

They say the darkest the hour, is always before the dawn. Its a saying who’s original author may have simply been pushed aside by pop culture. Certainly in my circles everyone associates that idea with the song by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Additionally there is no doubt that people’s minds over here on the east coast must certainly be on, the recent and upcoming events. What could i possibly be speaking of on this website of mine (one amongst perhaps a dozen or so) yet this is the one site where my where my strongest readership is in the New York City area.

Statistics Summary for thewriterscafe.org

Thewriterscafe.org has a three-month global Alexa traffic rank of 980,759. We estimate that 87% of its visitors are in the US, where it has attained a traffic rank of 124,284. Visitors to the site view an average of 11.0 unique pages per day. The site is relatively popular among users in the city of New York (where it is ranked #13,745).

Now I suppose many people might begin to wonder about me as I make the following statement. The upcoming hurricane, hurricane Irene, has the same 1st name as my mother who recently had a birthday on August 23rd! Now when I say other people might being to wonder about me, I mean, its sort of as if I have been in this “media free zone” as of late. Its actually been this way for some time.

While others often only repeat what they may have heard in their circles of conversation. Or simply repeat back the commentary they hear on their local television broadcasts, I pretty much seek out my own news. Now of course there are times when even if you are not watching TV, or listening to the radio, eventually the new gets in from maybe something my daughter tells, or a phone call from, well you guessed it my mom.

Now how come my mom of all people never would have mentioned that the upcoming hurricane that in addition to getting ready for Shabbos (if you happen to be an observant Jew) your possibly also thinking about this hurricane. This will be my launch point, when I return from two major financial errands which will set me back probably at least few hundred dollars.

Are You Ready For Hurricane Irene?

Well ready or not it is coming. For those who ponder things deeply the question on their mind might be, what is happening to the world we live in. Is our kind and loving G-d, angry with us all. Why?

Now I do have to go and take care of these “time bound” errands before these places I have make payment to close, I want to leave you, my dear readers with this one thought. No matter what you might be thinking I can almost guarantee that my true concept is far different from whatever you might possibly be thinking!

Well, I think the hurricane has gotten quite a lot of hype. I am just not really thinking that it is really going to hit us in particular so hard in Passaic NJ. From what my really very machmir orthodox friends are saying, it looks like New York City, especially Manhattan may be getting hit disproportionately to the other surrounding boroughs and the NJ coastline. Remember if this is a “message” in a hurricane being sent by Hashem, you would not expect its path to be extremely predictable.

Many people often tie these kinds of natural disaster to their own little pet theories regarding what Hashem might be angry about and who He, might selectively want to be warning or punishing! The gloom and doomers or the end of of the worlders will always be putting in their two cents. The truth is that these are amazing times we are all living in so we have to perceive matters clearly and act in the best manner, that we are able.
