Before this website became what it is today, and what it is still moving toward, Rabbi Singer once asked me to type of my notes from one of the Shirum he had given. I quickly complied, and even though I realized he may have been interested in having them or using them, I wanted to also include them in this website as well.
This page was originally inspired by Shlomo Singer Shlita requesting me to write up my notes from his ongoing talks (mussar schmooze) on Chanukah. Now that I am actually incorporating some of my own original video recordings and photographs it seems rather fitting that this page be “dedicated” with a nice action shot I photographed of this very active and dynamic Rabbi at the Shloshim of Yaakov Preuss (obm).
Please note there were no average days while Rabbi Shlomo Singer Shlita was leading our discourse, we had spent a great deal of time going over the meaning of the Holiday Of Chanukah.
Here are some of the questions (notes) which I wrote down as they were given by R. Singer:
Just before we really were digging into various texts and discussions about Chanukah:
Why do we have to be part of Hashem?
Answer: Because it is the ratzon (will) of Hashem.
Jews: Hashem’s Children
Other nations are Hashem’s creations, but we are his children.
Relationship
Why is it that G-d made a bond with us?
Why do we have to have oral law?
At Har Sinai
Why is the oral law the bond?
Why use the oral law to make the bond?
The Passaic Torah Institute has occupied a very special place in my heart and mind, primarily because of the character and personality of it very learned, Rosh Yeshiva- Rabbi Shlomo Singer Shlita.
Some of what I learn from the Passaic Torah Institute I keep in outline form, in my notebooks. These are some notes which I have actually taken the time to type up, so they are being placed here, and in the future can be found here.

question as to: Why add righteous over wicked?
The light of the central candle illuminates the outer candles and the outer candles light is reflected back to the central one. The Torah of the teacher inspires his students, and the light of the Torah from his students is pointed back (or reflected) in the teacher. Aharon (the Cohen-Priest) was given the daily ritual of lighting (or inspiring) the candles of the menorah. This was his eternal gift to console him for not having been included in the dedication of the Holy Temple. (New Menorah Information explained on this revised page)
We no longer have the Holy Temple, although its location is known, we do however have the menorah which was inspired by a small number of Torah Scholars who were able to defeat the entire Greek army because they were truly inspired and helped by G-d.
